The rehearsal is usually on the day before the wedding, based on availability. Our wedding director will tape off the individual places on the stage for each member of the bridal party. Unless you have a live musician, the DJ will play all ceremony music including the seating of mothers; arrival of your groom, groomsman, and officiant; processional, any special music such as unity candle or sand ceremony; and recessional.
We will run through the ceremony normally twice, or until you feel confidently prepared. The rehearsal normally takes an hour or less. Afterward you may choose to have a rehearsal dinner at a local restaurant. Several are located just next door to the theatre.
You and your bridesmaids await in the Balcony before the ceremony. From the Balcony you can peek through the glass and see the guests arriving in the main theatre room below.
Your names are projected on the curtain as the guests find their tabled seats.
The groom and groomsmen prepare in the green room hidden beneath the stage. The official name is the Hollywood Lounge, but it is affectionately known as The Man Cave.
Your bridal party heads downstairs and lines up in the lobby. You follow.
Your mothers are escorted to their seats. Tables up front may be reserved for your family, or rowed seats if space permits.
The guests aah as the curtains part. The groom and groomsmen enter the stage, then the bridesmaids enter, and finally you are escorted to the stage. The twinkling star curtain makes a beautiful backdrop for the ceremony.
You may also desire to take your vows beneath a romantic crystal empire chandelier included in the Crystal Glamour package.
After those famous words and kiss, you joyfully exit to applause and happy music during the recessional to the lobby.
Photos are taken in the lobby, surrounding streetscape, or nearby greenbelt park. (You may choose to have most of the photography done prior to the ceremony.)
While photos are taken and you gather yourself, the staff is prepared behind the scenes to feed your hungry crowd. Your guests are already conveniently seated for the reception dinner. The officiant says the dinner prayer, and gives instructions for a buffet line, plated dinner, hors d' oeuvres, or cocktails chosen from our Catering Services. Food and beverage bars are not normally opened until after the ceremony.
While guests are dining, and after you have finished your photos, you and the wedding party are escorted discreetly back to the stage for the grand entrance. The bridal party is lined up behind an entrance to the dance floor. You await on stage behind the curtain.
The lights go down, the music comes up, and the lights swirl as the DJ introduces the bridal party to the floor. The curtains part, and you have your first dance as husband and wife in clouds and twinkling stars.
You join in dining at your special table. You may elect a table in the middle of the guests, or one in front of the stage. Our Crystal Glamour package includes a special elevated lighted table that can be lit your wedding color!
During dinner the guests are treated to your video slideshow if you have one. You may elect to show the video before the ceremony instead.
The cake cutting and toasts are in the rear of the theatre at your cake or cupcake table. We will have a microphone ready. We also offer cake-cutting services.
After the cake cutting and toasts, it is time for the Cinemagic! Dance Experience. This spectacular video and light show is custom-tailored to your music preferences. From the golden Hollywood 40s, the fun 80s, to all the current hits. Imagine hitting the dance floor beneath club lasers and lights, and all your favorite music videos on the silver screen. The bridal party introductions and your first dance are included in this service.
The DJ will assist in planning all your dance highlights including the father & daughter dance, the mother & son, and the bouquet & garter toss. You will not have to worry about when each highlight happens. We will guide you at your own comfortable pace.
The DJ will announce last call at least 30 minutes prior to departure. At evening's close, your guests will be instructed after the last dance to head to the lobby for the grand departure.
You may choose bubbles or sparklers as your family and friends line the red carpet. The staff will place parking cones out front to reserve a space until your ride arrives. At the Capitol you are the stars of the show. We literally roll out the red carpet, and put your name in lights!
